MF Hussein's Hypocrisy and artistic nakedness

When I was a child learning the mathematical tables my Grand mother used to motivate me to learn the tables up to 20 while i wanted to stop at 10 by telling the story of Goddess Saraswathi and the proud brahmin. There was this proud Brahmin who learnt all Vedas, Upanishads by heart along with all written texts of that time. He approached learned gurus of his time and asked what more is there to learn. They could not tell him any as he knew all texts by heart.Then they advised him to do penance to Goddess Saraswathi, the Goddess of learning who might be able to answer him. He did as told and lo Goddess appeared before him. He put the same question to Her. She took him to a sea beach and picked up a handful of sand and told him that her own knowledge is only this handful while the whole sea bed is there for Her to learn still. She also told him that he has only read the books but not learnt anything. He has not even learnt Humility which comes out of learning as he was still suffering from Egoism.

Then my best child hood friend had this Ravi Verma's photo of the Goddess in pure white saree along with veena and she became my secret crush. Another friend gave a paper mache figurine of the Goddess at my wedding and it occupied central place in our home always. So I was horrified to learn that the great painter MF Hussein has painted the Goddess in the nude. But the fatwa by some Hindus against him was just a propaganda as also his exile in UK which suited the British imperialists who always gave asylum to fundamentalists of all hues from the subcontinent till it started to sting them. The recent attempt to bring him back to India at state expense would not have bothered me but for some Hindu liberals and media to portray opposition to his paintings as that of Hindu fundamentalists only. I am an Indian Christian and his paintings of Hindu goddesses and Bharath mata are offensive to me also. Moreover artistic freedom for nudity would have been appreciated in Hussein'c case if he has done it uniformly in every painting he drew. Here he has shown his hypocrisy and cowardice. I want the readers of this blog to decide after viewing his paintings.

	Full Clad Muslim King and naked Hindu Brahmin. The above painting clearly indicates Hussain's tendency to paint any Hindu as naked and thus his hatred.
	Naked Bharatmata - Hussain has shown naked woman with names of states written on different parts of her body.
	Out of the four leaders, only Hitler is naked. Hussain hates Hitler and has said in an interview 8 years ago that he has depicted Hitler naked to humiliate him and as he deserves it ! How come Hitler's nudity cause humiliation when in Hussain's own statement nudity in art depicts purity and is in fact an honour! This shows Hussain's cowardice and hypocrisy.
